If you were to go through this holiday road trip safety checklist one at a time, you would be in a good position to be able to deal with a number of issues that could arise while you are on the highway with your family this holiday season.
- Make sure you have a spare tire, a working jack, and some cans of tire fix-a-flat.
- Pack an emergency box with a hammer, screwdrivers, wrenches, wire cutters, scissors, and different size vise-grips.
- Bring a gas can just in case you have to get a lift to the gas station if you run out of gas.
- Keep a set of jumper cables in the trunk of your vehicle in case the battery fails.
- Pack a roll of new duct tape you can use for repairs.
